CO ICF «Children of Nemyriv» We are a foundation for the memory of more than 20,000 innocent Jewish souls who perished during the nazi occupation and the Holocaust. We are descendants of the exterminated Jewish community of Nemyriv. We are engaged in restoring the memory of Jewish heritage in Podolia. Under our patronage are two Jewish cemeteries: the old one from the times of the khmelnytskyi Massacre with the burial place of Tzaddik Yehiel-Michel ben Eliezer, who wrote the book "Fragments of the Tablets"; the second one is from the times of the Holocaust, where eight mass graves and a huge territory of uncovered tombs of Transcarpathian and Bessarabian Jews exiled to Nemirov are in a bad state. |
"My people, I will open your graves and raise you up from them. I will give you My spirit, and you will live. This is what God said. There are Jews buried in these mass graves, the number is unknown. They were tortured by the Nazis, whose names shall be erased from the Book of Life forever. The date of death was November 24, 1941.

"May their souls be bound by the bonds of eternal life."Arise, and walk through the city of carnage,
And touch with your hand, and fix in your gaze
The dried on trunks and stones and fences.
Cold brains and blood lumps; that's them.
Walk to the ruins, to the gaping breaches,
To walls and hearths, as if broken by thunder:
The blackness of the naked bricks,
The crowbar bursts deep and crushing like a battering-ram,
And those holes are like black wounds,
Which no physician and no purpose can be found.
Step, and your foot sinks: you have put your foot in the fluff,
In shreds of utensils, in rags, in shreds of books:
And the oxen's labour hoards them, and in a moment,
And all is ruined...
